“Love for Laurel” community cleanup event

The sun unexpectedly brightened the morning of our “I Love Laurel” litter cleanup on Feb 11th, as nearly 70 people gathered in Riverfront Park and McCullough Field to show pride in our community. As families, couples and singles strolled along the river and the field, with some fanning out into neighborhood streets and alleys, they were able to clean up enough trash to leave the city with plenty of bags to dispose of on Monday morning. Every piece of trash properly disposed of, means one less reaching, clogging, and polluting the river and waterways. Many thanks to all the volunteers who showed up!! Look for the next litter cleanup activity to be announced soon.
