Native plant nursery

Stosh Comisiak and Brian Coyle prepared the L4P native plant nursery at the USGS Bee Inventory and Monitoring Lab on the Patuxent Refuge for the spring growing season.  They covered a layer of burlap with 12 inches of wood chips to prevent weed growth.  Next, they will build tables to make it easier for people of all ages and abilities to participate in growing native plants.

L4P is looking for volunteers in spring and summer to help grow many hundreds of native plants. These beautiful plants will be given away to neighbors and used to create habitat for many species of pollinators and other wildlife. Join us!
