Pollinator Printmaking
In the spring of 2024, Laurel Art’s Council, in coordination with L4P, held a Pollinator Printmaking Workshop to promote the installation of the monarch mural at Sturgis Moore Park. Twenty participants, including several members of the Laurel Arts Council, were joined by pollinator conservationist and entomologist Francis Mullan and horticulturist Liz Humes.
Cheryl Dyer made a presentation on behalf of pollinators and native plants. “We need them more than they need us!”
She was joined by artists/teachers Donna Jonte and Anita Gilbert in demonstrating two methods of making prints with pollinators as the subject.

Check out some of the beautiful prints our participants created!

Cheryl then took the workshop to Laurel Elementary School’s 4th grade class, continuing to spread the word about pollinators and the need to create sustainable habitats to support them.
Many thanks to the Laurel Arts Council, Department of Parks and Recreation and all those who supported the workshops!
