Native Plant Nursery

L4P had a native plant nursery thanks to the USGS Bee Inventory and Monitoring Lab on the Patuxent Refuge. Volunteers created the nursery by covering a layer of burlap with 12 inches of wood chips to prevent weed growth. Next, they built tables to make it easier for people of all ages and abilities to participate in growing native plants. Many of the plants we used in Sweitzer native garden and gave away at festivals came from this nursery!
