• Laurel Riverfront Park Tree Maintenance event on January 18 (Mike McLaughlin)

• Laurel Sustainability Plan launch party, January 30 (Cheryl and/or other attendees)

• Laurel Master Plan Review Committee - first of series of meetings to solicit input and feedback from residents, January 29 (any attendees?)

• Patuxent Refuge community meeting about future access  (any attendees?)

Upcoming events:

• Litter Clean Up - President’s Day Weekend, Feb 15th, 9:00 - 11:00.  McCullough Field on 8th St..  Rain date will be Monday Feb 17th, 9:00 - 11:00  (Pauline, Holly, Cheryl)

• L4P will be purchasing 15 durable trash pickers 

• Bona Terra sponsored FREE seedling giveaway for the Laurel Main Street Festival - 2 volunteers needed to participate in March 1 training, 10 -1, Indian Head MD. (Jimmy)

• Main street festival volunteers - who will attend the booth (Jess)

• Pruning Demo with James Kole - March 1, 10 am.  Sturgis Moore Pollinator Garden by the monarch mural (Cheryl)

Updates and announcements:

• L4P Tshirt committee (Cheryl)

• Nature/poetry in parks project (Cheryl)

• Mural initiative, East wall of Quick Mart, 5th street Laurel (Ruth, Cheryl, Melissa, Brian)

• New sign at the riverfront restoration site highlighting partnership among L4P, Howard EcoWorks, City of Laurel and Laurel Historical Society (Brian)

• Graphic designer needed

• L4P endorsement of the Maryland bottle refund bill (Holly)

• MD HOMES Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program and High-Efficiency Electric Home Rebate Programs.  At risk of funding freeze/cancellation by DOE. The program had not been fully approved by DOE as of January.  

• Call for Treasurer to succeed Dave Everett (Jess)

• Important job but not difficult or time consuming
